This is a program that I have developed for years depending on the way I learned SAORI designs in Kyoto, Japan in 1997-2000. I adapted using origami paper and washi tape which are easily you can get.

I picked several basic patterns from SAORI books and showed how you cut the long banner fabric and sew together to make it for a garment. I will instruct one step at a time so you can make your own pattern as it goes. I have gotten many good feedbacks about this program. Many people are afraid to cut your own fabric by just looking at the book. When you learned how to put the cut pieces together to make a 3D garment, you will feel comfortable to adapt this paper pattern to your fabric with confidence.

What you need:

-a pack of origami paper (large size)…..one side is color and another side is white

-washi tape or masking tape…..color or pattern

-clear scotch tape

-scissors or ruler

-pens
