This workshop is for people who are interested in natural plant dye with onion skins, avocado pits, and marigold. This is especially for wool, and we will use alum for mordant.

I am not a specialized natural dye although I have done a bunch of experiences.  I am happy to share the experience with you to explore what plant dye offers us.

It takes time to boil the plants, soak wool yarn, and set the color. I hope you will discover the beauty of natural plants’ dye and learn what it gets involved. It would be wonderful to make your special scarf or a shawl with the dyed wool.

What you need to bring;

– 3-4 skeins or 3-4 sets warp of wool or alpaca yarn less than 8oz each

-onion skins yellow or red

-plastic gloves

-plastic bags

Wear a painter’s clothes or an apron.
