This is a four-months program that people work on a same assignment each month and study together in a monthly meeting. The assignment will be determined by people who sign up except the first one. This program is for people who have been doing SAORI weaving for a while (at least for a couple of years) and want to develop their creativity and skills further without specific projects in mind. I ask you to commit to work on the projects seriously with attending all the meetings as much as possible. It would be a great opportunity to be in the zone and get spark moments. You will develop your sensibility (Kansei as Misao Jo mentioned)  and as a result you will gain knowledge, skills, and confidence to play. I am sure that this will accelerate your understanding SAORI philosophy as well as its techniques.

It doesn’t require a specific length of experience or specific skill levels, however it would be best for you to have your own loom at home that you can work on assignments without help. Some assignments require specific way of warping. So a ready-made black warp won’t work for all the assignments. And you need to download Zoom application and learn how to share pictures.

The Study Group is co-creation of all participants instead of a teacher-leading class. I am a facilitator of the meeting. And although it is not a class, I will introduce the assignment to make it clear what you will do. It has been a great learning experience for everyone who participated. That’s why some people keep returning.
